It is hard not to feel extremely bitter and frustrated with capitalism, cheap and lazy "creatives" and the continual devaluation of my work by those who don't give a damn about where something originated; and whilst I am trying to run a business and therefore don't want to lose out on potential revenue* I feel most angry and upset about the fact someone else is always taking credit for my work and preventing me from gaining the exposure and recognition I deserve.
The final element in the lunar cycle - or the first, depending on which way you look at it - is the one that I personally crave the most: water.
Of course water isn't something only I thirst for as it is vital to all life. Approximately 80% of our human bodies are made up of water, so any deficit will lead us racing to the shower or tap. It nourishes the planet, offers refreshment to all it's human and non-human inhabitants, and is essential for crop and plant growth, thus the provision of all food.
I know I am not alone here in saying that fall is my absolute FAVOURITE season. Hands down. No competition. But my love for it goes beyond the aesthetic and weather.
Despite leaving education 13 years ago I have never been able to shake the academic year calendar - perhaps I'm just not meant to - and as a result fall is my 'New Year'. I feel the most alive, energetic and optimistic around this time; and consequently it has (at least post-education) typically been the time of year I make the most life changes. I have ended relationships, left jobs, and moved city/country/continent. I haven't always started something new, but I have always shed something old. For as long as I can remember it has been my season to purge.
